Tenor Ukulele, 2005

Tenor Ukulele, 2005

Mahogany. Maybe not Honduran mahogany; I think it’s one of the varieties of mahogany substitutes from Africa. But I’m not certain. Click the photo for more info, including a building log and sound clips. This was built from what some might call a kit – the wood had been selected and roughly sized, but that’s about it. My first ukulele build, and while I’m not entirely thrilled with the outcome, it’s good enough to play and make me want to build more.
